This took me a LONG LONG time to figure out, and test. I FINALLY discovered a fix to the infamous "Vanilla pudding" problem.
This problem, in case you aren't familiar with the term 'Vanilla pudding', is when all of your randomly spawned Sims in your town all look exactly the same with the same perfect eyes, nose and mouth. AKA, NO GENETIC DIVERSITY...unless you go in and fix each individual Sim in CAS...No ones got time for that! How about we go to the very root of the problem...the creation of the townies! I will provide you with the basic steps of fixing this problem FOREVER:D
EXPLANATION: I will now tell you the reason we used Awesomemod's 'Novanillapudding' option in addition to Twallan's immigration settings, and not just Twallan's immigration options.
As I stated before, vanilla pudding face is the default face used on all the townies. Not multiple default faces, but ONE default face used on ALL the townies. Tends to be the first preset in each facial category. So all the townies have the same face with different hair/eye/skin color.
A brief explanation as to what the numbers we entered mean: The option 'Facial Blend Mutation: Random Sims' means that whatever numbers we input, create a range by which the mod is allowed to alter the sliders to the left or to the right, from the original Sim before it is generated.
Knowing what vanilla pudding face is and what the option 'Facial Blend Mutation: Random Sims' means, if we had altered Twallan's immigration settings without Awesomemod's 'novanillapudding' option, Twallan would have taken the game's randomly generated Sim (which has the vanilla pudding face problem) and would have altered it from there. When all randomly generated Sims look the same, that only gives twallan's mod so much room to create extreme/notable differences in each Sims face. Now, if we add Awesomemod's 'novanillapudding' option, this changes the games randomly generated Sims from vanillapudding, to the Sims you can randomize in CAS. Now, if each Sim generated from Awesomemod's 'novanillapudding' has the ability to select any of the presets in each facial category, instead of the game's original default of the first option in each category, imagine the number of unique looking Sims running around your town! Not only are they spawns of Sims like you see when you randomize in CAS, but Twallan's mod alters their face even further from there!

- You will need to have downloaded Twallan's story progression mod and Awesome mod (In 'Realism To The Game' tab, I typed out how you need to configure Awesomemod, but here it is again: Make sure the 'novanillapudding' option enabled and EVERYTHING else disabled using the configuration tool. The story progression component of both the mods WILL conflict, so if you are going to use them together, make sure Awesomemod's story progression option is disabled. Remember, you need to download Awesome mod itself, and then download it again once you configure it! You should have two Awesome mods installed, one labeled awesomemod and the other labeled awesomecongif) I provided these links to you in the tab, 'Realism To The Game'.
- Now that they are in your mods/packages folder, start the game. You can either load a town you were already playing, or start one from scratch to really see the results:p
- Once your town is loaded, pick a Sim and play them, or if you started a new town, just pick a Sim in your bin, move them into an house. (use Ctrl+Shift+C and enter freerealestate) so that you can move them into whatever house quickly.
- An option will come up saying you have started story progression, just say yes, and a second option may come up if you are playing an already populated town, saying if it's okay to wipe out your town. Say NO, unless you want all your Sims annihilated.
- Now, click on your Sim and you will see an 'Nraas' option added. Click on 'Nraas/Story progression'. Click 'General options', click 'Lots', click 'Immigration/Emigration'. Set the 'Immigration Gauge' to a small number above 0, like 10. Now a plethora of options have been added.
- Near the top, you will see 'Chance of Bin Offspring' and 'Chance of Random Offspring.' Set 'Chance of Bin Offspring' to 0 and set 'Chance of Random Offspring' to 100.
- Scroll down some more, and you will see 'Facial Blend Mutation: Random Sims'. Set it to '-0.3:0.2'. You can alter this number, but through vigorous experimentation, this appeared to deliver the most realistic results. Scroll a little more, and you will see 'Facial Blend Mutation: Unset Blends'. You can just leave it at it's default, or set it to 0:0. It's default is such a small number that it honestly doesn't even really matter.
- Now to test! Scroll down to 'Rapid Immigration' and enter the number of families you want to immigrate to your town right now. Enter 10, and watch as your new townies flood in. Once they have moved in, make their households active, and enter CAS through the mirror. If this worked properly, you will have some very diverse looking Sims with all sorts of different features!
